The day has come, according to “market source” WWD, that on September 9th H&M will do a collaboration with French Fashion House, Lanvin. Following the collaborations of Karl Lagerfeld, Sonia Rykiel, Stella McCartney, and Rei Kawakubo of Comme des Garçons, it does not come as a huge shocker, but no one can be 100% sure.
H&M’s facebook page features a series of black and white videos of what the H&M shopper should expect on this date, but only eludes to who this mystery designer is! The series of teaser videos includes quotes simulating those of Lanvin’s Alber Elbaz, so the assumption cannot be so far fetched.
After all, it is Alber Elbaz himself who wishes for women to be intellectual and bath in their own beauty and comfort.
“I do things without décolleté, nothing is transparent,” Elbaz said. “I am overweight, so I am very, very aware of what to show and what not to show, and I am sure there is a huge link with being an overweight designer and the work I do My fantasy is to be skinny, you see? I bring that fantasy into the lightness — I take off the corset and I bring comfort and all these things that I don’t have. What I bring is everything that I don’t have. This is the fantasy. This is the concierge that goes home.”
