Harry Potter And The Deathly Hallows: Part 1 – World Film Premiere Inside Arrivals

Lace is a very feminine fabric that is used in layering with some of the most beautiful pieces of clothing. It is also used to make some of the sexiest lingerie outfits we have seen. Lately it seems like there is a fine line between the two both on the runway and on the streets.  When we see this gorgeous Zac Posen dress on the runway we praise it. Then we see celebrities wearing similar lace pieces and many of them are getting criticized for it.

Here we see JoJo at NYFW rocking the likes of Elaine Moreira- who’s earrings pull everything together causing her look to pop.  After seeing this picture, investigation went underway to discover what these jewels are all about.

Elaine Moreira, who has her studio in Puerto Rico, creates one of a kind jewels out of elements of Swarovski Crystals, Murano glass, sterling silver and fabric rosettes.  Her following consists of young Hollywood starlets everywhere.  Her jewelry is incredibly versatile- she creates necklaces from chunky stones, while her charms serve as an incredible addition to any headress.

Yes, What Goes Around Comes Around is absolutely relevant in regards to fashion, evident from the perspectives of two vintage veterans with over 17 years of experience.  Co-Founders Maione and Weisser translate vintage that is found through global hunts so that they can be easily worn.  In selecting different pieces, they “sought to find what reflected fashion today from a vintage perspective.” Nothing can replace a classic vintage lifestyle dabbed by a flair of modernity and Rock N Roll edge.

While designers are scrimmaging, trying to find a means to fight the likes of knock-off’s and cheap copies, there has been a sight to see among the likes of product placement.  With Fashion Week building excitement around a collection, that fire must not be extinguished completely over the months it takes to hit actual retail. Product placement on celebrities is an efficient way to translate a runway looks’ wearability to the masses.  This also gives opportunity for designers to take credit for their creativity and designs.

As a fresh fashionista, with a developing business, in order to break into the industry, it’s important to learn from those who went before us.  Anna Wintour, Hilary Alexander, Suzy Menkes, Linda Fargo, Anna Piaggi, Glenda Bailey, are all front row sitting, well respected women in the industry of fashion, but they all started somewhere.

It appears that many have missed the likes of our dear, sweet Editor-In-Chief Anna Wintour at the usual hot spots during these last three fashion weeks.  These are shows that she would usually be in attendance to, but she is nowhere to be found.  Could this be a sign that she may be considering retiring?

“The face of 1966” is apparently making a comeback.

Both blonde, both young, and both British, one definitely has to do a double take in order to distinguish a picture of Twiggy from a picture of Emma Watson. The only differences are the choppiness of the pixie cuts, and about 40 years.

Emma Watson

Twiggy Lawson was known as the first prominent teenage model and in the late 60’s, the fashion world went “stark raving mad” over her thin build, pixie hair, and of course, those eyelashes.

Concert Style: Circa Survive

One of my favorite bands in the ENTIRE WORLD, Circa Survive, bestowed their musical intellect upon the city of Los Angeles last night at the Bootleg Theater on Beverly Blvd Downtown.

For a set of girls who are rarely seen without high-heels and fashionable attire, situations such as mosh pits can propose somewhat of a challenge in terms of how to dress.

I chose to wear all black for two reasons:

1)      I had a crazy dream the night previous which involved death.

We’ve seen her on TV and can’t help but be intrigued by her overwhelming sense of star power, and not to mention her fabulous hair.

The Forward Fashion team happened to cross paths with Ms. Brig Van Osten one night in Los Angeles, and were invited to tour her salon in Simi Valley. After what Brig warned us was a trip that we would need “a horse, and an over-night pack complete with food and change of clothes,” in order to make it, we did make it!
